Case Study: Envysion
Envysion Inc. is a video analytics software company and reseller of video equipment for retail operations, based in Louisville, Colorado. Envysion integrates video with business systems such as point of sale platforms to provide insight into loss prevention, sales and marketing performance, operations, and the customer experience. As a convenience to their customers, Envysion offers a wide range of serialized hardware products for resale. This made manual order processing extremely difficult. Their rapid growth created a bottleneck, and they were no longer able to ship products quickly and accurately using manual methods.
Envysion reached out to Tandem Technologies in search of a better way to manage their inventory. Tandem noted that Envysion did not need a complicated pick, pack, and ship system. They needed simplicity and a solution that was easy to use. Tandem Technologies recommended ACCU-DART.
The Solution
ACCU-DART is a real-time inventory management solution that integrates directly with Sage 300 ERP. Using radio-frequency scanners, warehouse staff can validate and update inventory transactions instantly, giving the entire company accurate and up-to-date information. Because ACCU-DART leverages the existing ERP system, Envysion did not need to learn new interfaces or maintain additional databases. Their team could continue using their ERP expertise while improving efficiency in inventory control.
In addition to core functions such as shipping, receiving, and inventory counting, Envysion also required a solution for processing freight and shipping. ACCU-DART integrates with EFI SmartLinc Shipping software to streamline shipping directly from the handheld devices. SmartLinc connects with major carriers including UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager. With SmartLinc in place, Envysion can store shipping information inside Sage 300 ERP Sales Orders at the carton and carton-content level.
Working closely with their reseller, Tandem Technologies, was a significant factor in the success of the project. Envysion reported that the assistance from Karen Smart of Tandem Technologies was essential to their successful implementation and go-live.
The Result
Once ACCU-DART was implemented, Envysion achieved major improvements in accuracy and efficiency. All receiving, picking, and shipping steps are now processed electronically, and all information flows directly into Sage 300 ERP.
